The Board Treasurer's Role and Responsibilities
- Role Responsibilities are subject to change
- Attends board meetings;
- Is responsible for handling all monetary transactions within The Society;
- Is responsible for maintaining a budget and financial statements up to date;
- Sign all cheques / processes all online transactions as principal signatory;
- Can vote during board meetings;
- Is responsible for handling sponsorships and donations;
- Prepare a provisional budget ahead of the fiscal year and presents said budget at a board meeting;
- Sets up banking accounts and responsible for communications with financial institutions;
- Is responsible for collecting membership information and payments, maintaining the membership list and issuing membership cards;
- Is responsible for handling all financial aspects of expos or auctions (table fees, rental fees, admissions, etc.);
- Provide support to other board members as needed;
- Acts as moderator on social media;
- Act as board meeting chair on a rotational basis with the other board members (chairs 1 out every 5 meetings of The Board).
