The South Representative's Role and Responsibilities

- Attends board meetings;

- Is the main point person when it comes to dealing with municipal government within its region (in close collaboration with Communications board member);

- Collaborates with Communications and Saskatchewan North for engaging the provincial government;

- Ensures that all events within its region adheres to local and provincial laws and bylaws;

- Is responsible for making arrangements for meetings being held in its region (room booking and rentals, making sure permits are in place, etc.);

- Is responsible for setting the agenda for local meetings (including consulting the membership and the board to generate a list of topics to be discussed) and transmit the agenda to The Secretary a week before the meeting to be formatted and ready for the meetings;

- Records minutes for local meetings and forwards the minutes to The Secretary in the week following a meeting for transcription and filing;

- Records, along with Saskatchewan North, minutes at the Annual General Meeting;

- Chairs all local general meetings of The Society;

- Provides support to other board members for expos and auctions, especially when the event is held within its region;

- Can vote during board meetings;

- Provide support to other board members as needed;

- Acts as moderator on social media;

- Act as board meeting chair on a rotational basis with the other board members (chairs 1 out every 5 meetings of The Board).
